______________________________________________________________________________________
- Closures:
• Thursday, 19th December 2024 to Thursday, 02nd January 2025, entire facility closed for holidays
- Service canines / animals brought in from the public
This is a friendly reminder that the only canines allowed into the facility from the public are service animals with up-to-date service paperwork and up-to-date vaccination records to be inspected upon request by the facility staff at any time.
Regardless of the disability, service animals are not, repeat, not allowed in the segmented range portion (pistol or rifle side). This would be an extreme health and safety violation.
If you have a service canine that you need to be brought in with you, please call the facility before you walk in so staff can better prepare for your arrival.
- Latest time to shoot / discounts if I arrive an hour before closing? …No…
You MUST be on the firing line no later than one (1) hour prior to closing (by 5:00 PM ET (or 4:00 PM ET for the two days a week that we close an hour early)); otherwise, unless you have a reservation in advance (large group party, etcetera), you will not be able to shoot and take your time. If you arrive past the one (1) hour prior to closing time, you will be turned away, no exceptions; full-stop. There are no discounts for arriving late (at 5:00 PM ET) or just shooting for an hour; i.e. the going rate (a one-day pass) is the going rate without a membership.

(1) Accordingly, effective Wednesday, 29 March 2023, North Carolina pistol purchase permits – regardless of when issued - may not be used as an alternative to the NICS background check requirement. Bear Arms Indoor Shooting Range, LLC will not accept any North Carolina pistol purchase permits in lieu of a NICS check. North Carolina concealed carry handgun permits are still accepted in place of a NICS check.
(2) Please review the "SOPs" section as new information has been added about what we are and are not willing to sell, transfer, consign or work on (i.e. any and all eighty (80%) per cent receivers also known as incomplete firearms or receivers, any FRT type trigger [Rare Breed, WOT, Graves-Alamo] due to the new laws taking effect. We are also unable to sell any firearm parts kits, slides, or anything else that falls under the new Zero Tolerance Policy, Bipartisan Safer Communities Act, and the New ATF Regulations due to the new restrictions. We apologise for the inconvenience, but we have to stay in compliance with the ever-changing landscape of the firearm industry.
(3) There is also a change in the wait time for a person under the age of twenty-one for the expanded NICS checks. The wait time may be as long as ten (10) business days [business days are the days the shop is open Thursday to Sunday, NOT the standard working week].
Please do your due diligence and look at the website. Please do not be angry at the staff because you did not ask pertinent questions about how the firearm purchase process works. It is not as easy as the media says it is.

We are starting to see an alarming number of people walking into the store or from the range with firearms in their hands (not in cases or holsters as is our procedure), and they have been quite taken aback when the staff responds in a very expeditious manner to secure the firearm immediately.
We understand that some people may not know any better or make a mistake. If you have questions, please contact the store to know the proper procedure, or we are happy to lend you a case for the firearm to bring into the store.
We have to be highly vigilant in this time of crisis. Please do not be upset with store staff for our response to someone walking to the store without a weapon secured in a holster or case. YOU may know the firearm is unloaded or needs maintenance, THE STORE STAFF only see someone walking into the store with a firearm plainly visible and intentions unknown. Please be responsible.
Standard transfer fee of one firearm (handgun or rifle or any type of lower receiver) and one long gun is $20.00 plus tax.
Multiple transfer fee of two firearms (handguns or any type of lower receiver) is a minimum of $35.00 plus tax because this is the definition of a multiple sale/transfer of firearms and requires additional paperwork. Customers who wish to strongly disagree with store staff thinking that we enacted multiple sales (we did not, that would be the ATF) will be asked to leave immediately.
The staff at Bear Arms Indoor Shooting Range reserves the right to deny the sale or transfer of a firearm for any reason, which includes but is not limited to the Transferee/Buyer of the firearm refusing to provide required state documentation in accordance with both federal and state firearm laws, the refusal to fill out the ATF Firearm Transaction Record (Form 4473) in its entirety (defined as any and all applicable questions, subquestions, and/or Transferee/Buyer sections), rude, malicious, or dangerous behavior to staff members and/or patrons of the store.
These are the forms you will be required to fill out at the shop. Please familiarise yourself with these, so you know what to expect.
